DEPARTMENTAL INTRODUCION OF SWASTAVRITTA

The Department of Swastha Vritta is a fundamental and vital department of Ayurveda that emphasizes the preservation of health, prevention of diseases, and promotion of longevity through disciplined lifestyle practices. The term Swastha Vritta refers to the code of healthy living described in classical Ayurvedic texts, focusing on individual and social health.

The department is dedicated to imparting theoretical knowledge and practical training in principles such as Dinacharya (daily regimen), Ritucharya (seasonal regimen), Sadvritta (ethical conduct), Aahara Vidhi (dietary rules), Vyayama (exercise), Yoga, and Nidanaparivarjana (disease prevention). These principles play a crucial role in maintaining physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.

  Postgraduate Department:

The Postgraduate wing of the Department of Swastha Vritta aims to develop competent academicians, researchers, and public health professionals with a strong foundation in both classical Ayurveda and contemporary preventive medicine. The PG curriculum integrates Ayurvedic concepts with Modern Preventive and Social Medicine, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Education, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, and National Health Programmes.

 Academic and Practical Activities:

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as per NCISM/CCIM syllabus
  • Practical demonstrations of Yoga, Pranayama, Dinacharya, and Ritucharya
  • Community-based activities such as health awareness camps, school health programmes, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, nutrition education, and lifestyle disorder prevention camps
  • Research activities including clinical studies, surveys, dissertations, and publications
  • Training in National Health Programmes, health statistics, and community diagnosis

To promote holistic health and disease prevention through the principles of Swastha Vritta and to prepare professionals capable of addressing modern lifestyle disorders using Ayurvedic wisdom.
